going the wrong way on the freeway
So, today we were going to spend the day up at MaeLyn's house. We
were nearly there when the car in front of us suddenly slowed down, and
so Dean had to slam on his brakes. The car fishtailed and then spun out.
We ended up facing south on the northbound freeway, inches away from
the median barrier. We weren't hurt, the car wasn't hurt, no one else
was hurt. It was just terrifying. We had to wait for a bit while we
waited for someone to come to stop traffic for us so we could turn back
around safely. After about ten minutes a firetruck showed up, the people
got out of it to make sure everything was okay, then they stopped the
traffic and we carried on merrily on our way. I was torn between wanting
to laugh and wanting to cry. I was quite shaken up for a while even
after we got to MaeLyn's house. I'm just grateful that nothing more
serious happened. That really could have been disastrous.
