Announcement Time

I suppose since the Utah half of the family knows, I really ought to tell the rest of you. I'm pregnant again. I'm due March 18th. DJ and the new little one will be 16 months apart... really close, but we wanted them to be close. DJ has been so clingy lately, he only wants his mom and he has to be with me constantly. He better have grown out of that by March, or I think I'm going to go crazy. He's getting really close to walking, and I think that might help. He doesn't want me to hold him, he wants me to hold his hands so that he can get around up on his feet. I think once he really starts walking he'll be a little more independent.
This last weekend we drove up to Wyoming to visit Dean's Dad and go to the Rendezvous. The rendezvous was really cool. Tons of people all dressed up in 19th century clothing were all gathered and were selling stuff. Some of them were selling actual antiques from the era, some hand made similar things, such as rugs, dolls, tools, and food. Someone liked DJ and gave him a teething ring made out of a buffalo bone. There was an archery tournament, but we didn't get to see that. I would have liked to have though. Walking all around were pioneers and cowboys and native americans, it was really cool. We got to see some Indian dancers that just happened to be from the tribe that Dean's family is from. One of them even knew his grandfather. We completely forgot to bring a camera with us. I was really disappointed, I would have liked to have some pictures from this.
At that point we were only a few hours away from Orem, and so we decided to go visit Utah. We enjoyed seeing so many of you. I wish we could have stayed longer. On our way home we got a flat tire. Gratefully we were near civilization and not on one of those long stretches with nothing at all, so we were able to get that problem fixed fairly easily. We took our car in, but they said they couldn't repair it, so we had to get a new tire, and they strongly advised us to replace two tires so that the tread would be even. That cost a little more than I had anticipated spending on this little trip, but I'm very grateful that we have some money in our savings account that we can use for things like this.
This past month we have been doing lots of fun things. We got free tickets to a minor league baseball game. DJ loved the mascot, he wouldn't stop looking at him. He hated the loud cheering though. Every time there was a good play, or a far hit, or a home run, DJ would start crying and bury his head into me. He loved it the rest of the time though.
We went to the zoo, I would post pictures, but Dean took a million pictures of every single animal in the entire zoo... I think he was just having fun with the camera. Oddly though there was only a couple of pictures of DJ, the ones that I took when Dean momentarily put the camera down. DJ loved the monkeys that were swinging around having a ball, and he was scared of the baby wallaby that I tried to let him pet. He liked the fish swimming around int he aquarium. He was curious about everything else, but didn't get too excited about everything. He got really tired before too long, and then was just grumpy because he refused to fall asleep. Perhaps he was not quite ready for the zoo, but it was fun anyways.
