A new year, a new place
I loved hearing your decade reviews... and I considered adding my
own, but after thinking about this past decade for only a moment I
rejected the idea. Ten years ago I was ten years old and halfway
through fifth grade. Over the next several years, I finished elementary
school, I started and finished Jr. High, I started High School, moved
to Utah, finished High school, then went to BYU-I in 2007. From that
point my life has gotten a little more interesting. In 2008 I went to
Colorado for the summer and Never came back. I met and married Dean
that summer. I got pregnant at the beginning of 2009, Dean left for
Afghanistan in June, and he came back for the birth of our son in
November. So that was my decade. This next decade should be much more
eventful.
I am now back in Rexburg, about to attend my last semester here at BYU-I. I wish I could have finished with a bachelors degree, but I guess I'll have to get that a bit later. I am one class short of my associates degree here, so I'll get that and then I guess I'll transfer to wherever I end up with Dean to finish my bachelors degree.
I am so far enjoying being back in a space that I feel comfortable calling my own. Its not home by any means, but it is my space. I appreciate haveing been able to live with Heather and Tejay for the last several months, but it is also nice to not be living in someone else's house. This apartment is not in the best shape, and the heater keeps spontaneously turning itself off, and there are a million other problems, but I think I'm going to enjoy it anyways.
Right now this apartment is full of sleeping people. We're watching Natalie and Ammon so that Heather and Tejay can go to the temple and have a date night. Natalie is taking a nap in Heidi's room, Ammon is taking a nap in my room, Heidi is asleep on the couch, and my baby is asleep on my lap. All is quiet, and I am wishing I could go sleep too. Nevermind, my baby is not asleep on my lap. He is awake and watching the computer screen. I would put him down and go take a nap too, but he keeps waking up then going back to sleep again, then waking up again. Hmm... He seems to be asleep again, so I think I'm going to finish writing this later.
So, I got a good nap today, lying on the living room floor because there was nowhere else to sleep. I woke up when Natalie and Ammon did. We made spaghetti (I guess its not really spaghetti if you don't use spaghetti noodles, they were the curly ones) because that was the only meal we could think of that we had all of the ingredients to. We have some more grocery shopping to do. We had to hand wash all of the dishes because we don't have a dishwasher, and I noticed just a bit ago that the water that had been sitting in the sink was kinda... gelling... That's kinda disturbing, that's the water that that we've been drinking. I hope we survive this apartment.
