School & Kids & Life

Well, I've been surviving school. I dropped one of the three classes I was taking and cut my homework load in half. With just two classes it's manageable. I'm taking a class about how to study history. This class didn't exist when I was here before, but now it is a prerequisite to a class that I've already taken. We keep studying random things like the Titanic and the fall of the Roman Empire and some murder of some random peasant in the 13th century in southern France... I think it's fascinating. :) What is more interesting about what we are studying is the methods. I took a class much like this nearly five years ago, and I really struggled with it. Most of it just went right over my head. I think they took that class and cut it in half to create this half, so they can go over everything a lot slower and clearer. I think it was a good idea.
The other class I'm taking is Educational Psychology. I love that class! It is just so casual, we come to class and we just talk. We rarely have homework and when we do, it's usually watching a really fascinating video or something. That being said, I have learned so much already. For that class we have the opportunity to go to the High school to observe and to help out, I get to go on Friday for the first time, I'm really excited.
We started Potty training DJ a couple of days ago. The first day was really great. I thought this potty training thing was going to be a snap. Then the second day he really just didn't want to do it. Today I had to go to class, and he went to the babysitter's house, but when we were at home, he did really good. It's very time consuming and quite tedious, and especially difficult since I have to lug Andrew to the bathroom with us too because I can't leave him unattended or he'll get into everything.
Andrew is absolutely everywhere. He keeps running off and sometimes it takes me a while to find him. He likes opening drawers and cupboards and pulling everything out of them. He likes to pull everything off bookshelves, and he especially likes to play with the dishwasher. It is impossible to do any dishes when he's awake because the moment he sees it open he crawls straight for it and climbs all over it. He pulls himself up on everything and walks along furniture. He likes to hold my hand and walk. I don't think it'll be too much longer before he starts walking.
