sick baby

The evening was going just like any other. Dean made dinner, we threw some of it in the food processor for DJ (removing the peas because DJ apparently has an allergy to them) we ate and then put DJ in the bathtub. He played in the bathtub for a while (one of his favorite things to do) and then I nursed him and we put him to bed. He didn't go to sleep as easily as he usually does. In fact he cried for so long that I gave up and got him back up again. I attributed it to the late nap that he took. We played for a while hoping to tire him out, and he responded by throwing up all over me. I was completely drenched as was DJ. We cleaned him up and changed his clothes, I changed my clothes, we cleaned up the couch and then attempted to put him to bed again. 20 minutes later he threw up on me again. This time he got it all over my arm and then rested his head on it matting it in his hair. Dean gave him a bath and changed his clothes again while I took a quick shower to rinse everything off, then we cleaned up the couch, and the carpet. Finally thinking that the excitement was over for the evening we settled down to rock DJ to sleep. Apparently we were mistaken. For a third time I found myself drenched. This time however he happened to cough right in the middle spewing the last remaining contents of his stomach into my face and mouth. For the last time (or so we thought) we cleaned him up, and cleaned me up, this time we didn't put clothes back on him just in case, and it was a good thing because not 15 minutes later he threw up again all over himself and the carpet. This time I was spared at least. Dean decided to call a doctor at that point just because we were both quite worried. She told us that we shouldn't worry much at this time, but she recommended we get him some pedialite. Dean went out to get that while I stayed with DJ hoping against hope that he wouldn't throw up again. I got lucky. He was so exhausted by that time that he was falling asleep in my arms. I laid down with him on my bed and within minutes he fell asleep. I transferred him to his crib then, but I never did put any clothes back on him. DJ slept surprisingly well that night. He didn't wake up again until 5 am. At which point I nursed him hoping he wouldn't throw it all up. I put him back in his crib to finish out the night. He never did go back to sleep though. I heard him making noises for a while, but then about half an hour later he started crying hard so I went in to check on him. He had pulled off his diaper and had spread poop all over his crib. So anyways... that was the last of the excitement and DJ has been acting better ever since. It was a thoroughly disgusting evening and morning, but all is well now.

well, this is really long, and I don't really want to go back and read through this so I apologize for all of the mistakes I'm sure are all over the place, and I'm sure none of you really wanted to know about this, I just felt like writing something tonight, so I did.
