He's home!!!

Dean is back! I would say that life is going back to normal, but it is no normal that I have experienced before. We're pretty much moved into our now apartment. We're getting used to being a family unit, and it's rather nice. DJ has suddenly been learning all sorts of new things. He can finally roll both ways proficiently. He started out rolling front to back, but when he learned how to roll back to front he forgot how to roll the other way, so he would get stuck on his belly and get very upset especially when he's trying to go to sleep because he wouldn't sleep on his stomach. Now he can roll both ways, and he travels all over the place. He also started sleeping on his belly rather suddenly. He can sit like a pro, and he regularly does little crunches attempting to get up into a sitting position. Now that he can roll to get places he decided that it isn't enough and is trying to crawl, but so far with little success. He loves eating solid food, and has liked everything that I have given him other than apple sauce for some strange reason. He is still waking frequently at night. I'm usually up with him three times in the night, but last night he surprised me by only waking up once. That was nice. Yesterday also happened to be the first time that he got three solid meals of solids during the day. I'll bet there is a correlation. We've also been very impressed with his ability to play with and manipulate objects. We got him one of those posts with the rings on it... I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Anyways, the other day he was trying to put the rings back on the post, I didn't expect that of him. I've been very surprised that more and more often he has been playing with toys without sucking on them. He has finally learned that there is more to do with things than put them in his mouth... although he still does plenty of that. Dean is very much enjoying being home, and he is greatly enjoying being a Daddy. DJ loves him, but that's not hard, he loves everyone. Dean bought a camera with the bonus he got for being in Afghanistan for the last year, and has been taking hundreds of pictures. Photography is his new big hobby. It's been great having him back.
