Work and a visit from Grandma

Dean starts his new job today. He had training all last week, and today is his first day of actually working. They switched his days on him though, which is really upsetting. He was supposed to work Sunday night, Monday night, Tuesday night, and half of Wednesday night, but instead he works half of Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night. He's going to have to work all night on Saturday and then come straight home, change, then go to elders quorum meetings Sunday morning, and then go to church... He has a hard enough time staying awake through church as it is, but after having worked all night, I don't know how he is going to handle that. This altered schedule is also going to interfere with his national guard drills which he has Friday-Sunday once a month, which means that he's going to have to take that time off work. He has been trying to let him switch with the other guy that does the Sunday-Wednesdays shifts, but they're being really stubborn about it and will not switch. I'm worried that after a few months of this he'll just get fed up with this and quit. Needless to say, I don't think this is going to be a permanent job. He has decided to keep his job at McDonalds, working Mondays and Tuesdays, and maybe a short shift on Wednesdays. They're working on promoting him to manager, so he should be doing that soon. I just hope that they still will once he can only work 2-3 days a week.
This last week Dean's mom came to visit, and she brought with her a dining room table that's pretty cool, and a Piano! I was so excited about getting a piano. I don't really play the piano very well, but recently I have really wanted to be able to more. I know how to play in theory, I just need practice, and now that I have a piano I have no more excuses. I'm already better than I was a week ago. The kids both love it too, and one more thing that can keep them happy for 15 minutes a day makes my life that much easier.
