sick baby

The evening was going just like any other. Dean made dinner, we threw some of it in the food processor for DJ (removing the peas because DJ apparently has an allergy to them) we ate and then put DJ in the bathtub. He played in the bathtub for a while (one of his favorite things to do) and then I nursed him and we put him to bed. He didn't go to sleep as easily as he usually does. In fact he cried for so long that I gave up and got him back up again. I attributed it to the late nap that he took. We played for a while hoping to tire him out, and he responded by throwing up all over me. I was completely drenched as was DJ. We cleaned him up and changed his clothes, I changed my clothes, we cleaned up the couch and then attempted to put him to bed again. 20 minutes later he threw up on me again. This time he got it all over my arm and then rested his head on it matting it in his hair. Dean gave him a bath and changed his clothes again while I took a quick shower to rinse ...

Hamburger Smoothies

So... a very long time ago I had a dream about hamburger smoothies. I dreamed that I was running a smoothie shop and I was making all sorts of weird flavored smoothies. Well, the last week or so, that dream is in part coming true. Tonight I made a hamburger smoothie, a couple of days ago I made a taco salad smoothie, I've made a shepherd's pie smoothie, and lots of others. What is the purpose of these? To feed to DJ. He still doesn't have any teeth, but he loves food. So every time that we have a meal that has a lot of ingredients that he is allowed to have I just throw it in our food processor, or baby food grinder and presto, he eats just what we eat. He seems to like it better than the old plain mixes I used to give him, and it's easier on me because I don't have to prepare anything special for him anymore. Although usually I'll still mix in some squash or carrots or some other vegetable to whatever I'm giving him. It is so exciting watchin...
